As the last day of the workweek approaches, I encourage you to seek out and acknowledge the great things you’ve accomplished this week. Those daunting tasks that once seemed impossible to tackle or the tiny, insignificant nuisances that we want to flick away like fleas.
Congratulate yourself for crossing them off the list. You did it. Take this high-five and run with it in your spirit. Sure, a few items are probably anchored on that list, trudging the abyss of never-gonna-happen waters.
But negativity will always attack you. It will always attempt to interfere with your victory. Be your own cheerleader because that may be all you have in the moments you need encouraged most. And fight, bloody-knuckled, against that negativity.
- Recognize your triumphs—no matter how small.
- Recharge your batteries by checking in—often—with those people or things that reaffirm your goals. Even if that entails some tough truth. Especially then.
- Re-establish or reposition yourself if necessary. If you’re walking down the perpetual path of pity, it’s probably time for a new direction.
- Release those conflicting, stress-inducing contaminants that cannot be changed—at least by you. Move on! Untie the line to that anchor.
- Reward yourself when you know inwardly you deserve it so you can receive your intended blessing.
Populating lists of positive outcomes can only build your arsenal of confidence. Why not? What have you got to lose? You have more and better and bigger things do. Let’s go!
